Reijo Keskitalo - Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory
Reijo Keskitalo is a computational physicist interested in the analysis of the increasingly large cosmological datasets. He works on multiple aspects of the analysis pipeline starting from spacecraft attitude reconstruction and beam characterization through mapmaking and noise characterization, culminating in Monte Carlo simulations of entire measurement campaigns.
Reijo received his PhD in theoretical physics in 2009 under the guidance of Dr. Hannu Kurki-Suonio at the University of Helsinki, Finland. Before transferring to Berkeley, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher on the Planck cosmology mission at Caltech’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory from 2009 through 2011.

Jeffrey Jewell - NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory
Dr. Jeffrey Jewell is a cosmologist / data scientist at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He works on variety of problems including advanced algorithmic implementations of Bayesian inference, optimization (for optical instruments such as coronagraphs), and computational methods for nonlinear partial differential equations (encountered in modified theories of gravity).
Following a Ph.D. in astrophysics from the University of Chicago, Dr. Jewell came to NASA JPL and worked on the analysis of the CMB as a member of the US Planck science team. During the Planck mission he was an LFI team member, and Planck Scientist. He was one of the pioneers in introducing sampling methods, such as Gibbs Sampling and Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC), to Bayesian analysis in cosmology.
